The Science Baby Storybook
Science Through Story
One of the first learning rituals a child will have is looking at the pages of a book while an adult tells them a story. Each playshop begins with a story that is narrated from original picture book based on a scientific concept. Big concepts and vocabulary are broken down into small concepts and simple words and repeated throughout the class. For example a class on magnetism involves such vocabulary as force, repel and attract but words such as pull, push and stick are incorporated. Connecting vocabulary, hands-on exploration through story engages a child's logical and conceptual brain with their creative imagination incorporating all the ways children learn. Below are some excerpts of Science Baby stories.
